Pecos and Matt introduced their new act at the Pennsylvania Horse World Expo this year. Performed to Flamenco music called “Rockin’ Gypsies” by Willie and Lobo, this act was a demonstration of the traditional Iberian discipline of La Garrocha. La Garrocha is a discipline that originated in the use of a 13-foot long wooden pole called the Garrocha to work cattle. The elegant and artistic display between Pecos, Matt and the pole was a great success with the audience.
Our Bay Stallion Enamorado was the proud father to two beautiful colts this spring. We welcome Ambrosio CA and Allegro CA to the family. The colts already show signs of excellent dressage potential and outgoing personalities. See camelotandalusians.com for pictures and video of these two super athletic babies!
In between his busy clinic schedule in March and April, Matt designed and engineered our new eight stall barn at Innovations Farm in Saint Cloud, Florida. Barn Construction is underway and the McLaughlin Team has learned several important lessons during this time. First, roofing insulation can be tossed and caught just like a big Frisbee. And just like a Frisbee, the wind can carry it far, far away. Second, as repetition is the key in training horses, one would assume the same rule would apply to hammering nails. However, if you think that smashing your thumb with a hammer three times in a row would teach you not to do it a fourth time... think again. Third, mathematical equations and reality are not the same thing.
