Realizing some of these are not ‘recent’ highlights because the newsletter production shop was seriously delinquent this summer, please read these as a section catching you up on all the fun we have had since the last newsletter…in April.
Exhibitions: In April, Pecos, Coral and Matt made the cross country trek to California to perform during the Del Mar Western week. Matt liked Del Mar so much he stayed an extra week to play…making a total mess of Heather’s schedule of chores.
Pecos and Coral performed again in Brooksville, Florida, at Tommy Turvey’s ‘Night of Amazing Horses’ event in May. We were impressed by the excellent local support for the event and as usual, had fun performing with Tommy Turvey and his team of equine extremists.
Our P.R.E/Andalusian Pecos was selected as the 2011 Celebration Horse for Breyerfest. In July, Pecos and his uncle, Coral, traveled to Lexington, Kentucky, to participate in the three-day Breyer model horse annual event. Proving to be an excellent poser, Pecos patiently stood for hundreds of photographs with the convention participants and their limited edition Pecos Breyer models. As well as posing and signing autographs, Pecos, Coral, Heather, and Matt performed exhibition acts for the crowd. We were able to obtain some of the Pecos Breyer models and they are now available for purchase on our website store while supplies last.
In early November, our entire team participated in the Fabulous Freestyle Fundraiser in New Smyrna, Florida. The event supported Freedom Ride, a horse-back riding program for the disabled. Cooper, Versatil, Matt, and Lori demonstrated 2nd level through Grand Prix dressage movements for the audience. Cooper and Heather performed an Intermediare level freestyle to music from the Kill Bill soundtrack.
Competitions: Cooper V and Heather competed at the Suncoast Sunburn in Tampa, Florida in June. In a marathon of a weekend, they earned scores at 4th level and PSG ranging from 60 to 67%, which earned all of Heather’s required scores for her USDF silver medal rider’s award.
